Ambition

Relton Capital, a Zurich-based private investment company, focuses on quantitative trading strategies, private assets, and real assets. The firm aimed to expand their asset class coverage into Digital Assets and sought a comprehensive platform to manage all Digital Assets in one place.

Their objectives were to:

  • Manage digital asset investments while maintaining efficiency.
  • Access diverse liquidity sources.
  • Being able to connect via API to the Digital Asset ecosystem in order to optimize their quant strategies.
  • Consolidate all positions and transactions into one system.
  • Integrate portfolio data for streamlined reporting and analysis.

Challenge

Before collaborating with Alloy, Relton Capital were managing quantitative strategies and private asset/venture capital exposures, each requiring different infrastructure and systems. Adding digital assets without an integrated solution would have meant incorporating multiple tools and counterparty integrations, leading to fragmented steps throughout the investment process.

Approach

Relton Capital partnered with Alloy to translate their goals into technical requirements:

  • Implement a single platform that can cover the entire digital asset investment process from portfolio management to execution and post-trade analysis.
  • Make use of API calls where needed to further automate some of the steps within their quant approach to investing.
  • Connect centralized and decentralized liquidity sources into one unified view.
  • Consolidate Digital Asset data into their internal system for consistent client reports.

Result

Alloy’s modular platform enabled Relton Capital to:

  • Reduce the number of required tools by 80%, focusing on one single platform as the basis for the front-to-back investment process.
  • Maintain a unified view of positions and hedges across various sources.
  • Automate the reporting process using a unified data source and integrating it into the same view with their other quant strategies.
  • Simplify the integration and coordination of counterparties, liquidity venues, and data connections related to Digital Assets.

The partnership with Alloy resulted in robust operations, enhanced security, and increased efficiency in managing Digital Asset investments at Relton Capital.
